There's a lot going on in this section of verses, with the most prominent theme found in the repeated words "partiality" and "rich" and the repeated theme of judgment. But, beneath the surface, James repeats a few Greek words you would only know are being used if you are looking for them. We'll dig into those together while also taking a look at the celebrity culture of any industry (and why it is especially dangerous for Bible teachers).

We've hit upon the key verse for the book (James 2:17) and look at what, exactly, James means when he used the specific Greek words that he did for "faith" and "works" (and how both Abraham and Rahab revealed the state of their faith in their unique stories). And then, we pan the camera lens around to you and give you the opportunity to ask God how He wants your faith to be expressed through your own distinct works. (Spoiler alert: He'll tell you. He always does.)

In the Season Two finale, Jane gives an emotional depiction of not only the posture of Elijah's 1 Kings 18 praying, but the jaw-dropping correlation between the servants going-back and James' talk of prayer in the final verses of James 5. She answers the raw and honest question: "If God's going to do His will anyway, what's the point of praying?" And we dig into the unrelenting power of James' final power-punch of faith and works: the working of faith through prayer (and why fighting through every opposition to persevering prayer is worth every ounce of the war).
